The
former Convent of Santa Maria Maddalena,
founded in 1333 in the area of Valdiprato,
in San Gimignano. This ancient small building
was an essential stopping place for pilgrims and
merchants travelling along the Francigena Road.
This augustinians Monastery had a social and religiuos
function.
It was dismantled in 1786 and deprived of all its
sacred and artistic oranments. It later became a
private home. After a careful restoration, the atic
has been converted to a lodging offering comfortable
bedrooms with bathrooms. Guests can sit and relax
in the garden, which enjoys the shade of century
olive trees.
